Flooded properties usually experience ongoing problems from water retained in the buildings’ fabric. Freezing conditions can cause the surface of bricks to erode due to the formation of ice particles (spalling).

In warm conditions, mosses and lichens may grow causing further damage to the buildings’ fabric. The FLOODWALL System uses one of two alternative chemical treatments to deal with this problem. In either case, the building is pressure-washed to a height of one metre, providing a suitable surface for the chemistry to react and then the waterproof agent is applied.

Floodseal Max

Floodseal Max is used for commercial and industrial premises and where there has been previous flood damage. This chemical reacts with water, driving it from the buildings’ fabric and forming a micro-porous structure which bonds the fabric particles together in a waterproof, air-admitting matrix. This air- admitting quality is essential for removing any remaining moisture traces and for allowing the fabric to 'breath' by maintaining design aerobic conditions.

Floodseal Max requires special spraying and handling of equipment and the operator must wear appropriate protective clothing. Treated surfaces are safe for human and animal exposure after 30 minutes.
